| Dalian Coastal National Geopark is located at the most southern tip of Liaodong Peninsula. The typical sea corroded landform on the 15km continuous coastline, the geological landform in Sinian and Cambrian periods 900,000,000~300,000,000 ago, sedimentary rocks and a large quantity of ancient fossil organisms form the Rose Park, Dinosaur Park and Nanxiu Park, Tortoise Beach as well as about one hundred scenic spots. It is crowned as the “Solidified Animal World”. It is the core scenic area of Dalian Coastal National Geopark, with the oceanic scenery, seacoast landform, sandwich section and typical geological structure as the main sceneries, the ecology and human culture as the auxiliary sceneries. It is an integrated coastal geological park with complete services of geological research, teaching practice, sightseeing and tourism, holiday and leisure, summering and recuperation, seeking novelty and taking venture. In Aug 2005, it was approved to be the National Geopark.
Standing on the cliff of Jinshitan, you can watch the endless ocean range and cliff. As if you penetrate through the tide of time and discern the tide`s rising and fallingof antiquity ocean or appreciating the wonderful sight of life firestorm. You can go to Jinshitan Coastal National Geopark in order to experience the enduring legend on seashore.
Coastal National Geopark includes four main scenes. Such as Rose Stone Park, Dinosaur Park, South Scenery Park and Tortoise Beach
Rose Park
Rose Park consists of dozens of phycophyta fossils which are 700 million years old, and it is so named because the rock surface is pink and the texture rotates inwardly, which seem to be clusters of blooming roses when they are overlooked.
Rambling in the Park, the reefs look like lovely “stone monkey”, “turtle” just going ashore, “lion” with majestic look or “tiger” in threatening gestures. It seems that the lively animals are concreted by mysterious hands, staying between the sea and sky forever to listen to the tides and to witness the great changes of the world.
Dinosaur Park
The “Dinosaur Swallowing the Sea” which is over 40 meters high and full of power and grandeur is the representative landscape. Under the dinosaur’s neck people can travel by boat when the tide flows and ramble when the tide ebbs. The “Head Portrait of Beethoven” with a vivid look, is listening to the bravura music of the sea day and night.
“Matchmaking Stone”, “Crab Coming out of Hole”, “General Stone”, “Dragon and Horse Coming out of the Sea” and other landscapes are also very unique and lifelike.
Nanxiu Park

Tortoise Beach
It is located in the beach headland in the extreme east of Jinshitan, and the overlapping of rock formations of different ages and the changeful rock formation colors are the biggest features here: “Chinese Descent”, “Overturning Rivers and Seas”, “Colorful Rocks” and other splendid murals, colorful pebbles with changeable patterns can be found everywhere on the beach, and the “Great Turtle Looking for Its Kid” is lifelike and profound; of which the most famous “Turtle Stone” is called “the first wonder stone in the world” by world geological experts.
